BRENTFORD boss Dean Smith is optimistic that key duo Henrik Dalsgaard and Nico Yennaris will be fit for Saturday’s Championship clash with Leeds United at Griffin Park.

Danish international defender Dalsgaard was substituted during the second half of Wednesday night’s 2-0 success at Birmingham City with a heel injury while midfielder Yennaris missed the game altogether after being knocked unconscious during last Saturday’s win at Preston North End.

Bees boss Dean Smith said of Dalsgaard: “I’m not sure. It’s a heel injury but I hope it’s more contact. I’m hopeful for him against Leeds.”

Providing an update on Yennaris, Smith said: “There’s a number of tests that he has to go and get ticks for.

“He’s done ball work today and he’ll join the rest of the lads tomorrow.

“If he gets the ticks in the procedure in coming back from the unconscious spell then he’ll be okay for Saturday.”

Dalsgaard has made 18 appearances for Brentford so far this season while former England under-19s and Arsenal player Yennaris has featured 17 times this term, scoring four times.
