Leeds United’s recent away record against Blackpool makes for interesting reading, with the Whites picking up just one win from their last five clashes on the Lancashire coast – taking five points from a possible 15.
Their last win at Bloomfield Road came as far back as March 1967. Will Neil Redfearn’s men bring that run to an end on Saturday?
SATURDAY, MARCH 25, 1967 – BLACKPOOL 0 LEEDS UNITED 2
This First Division clash in Spring 1967 remains Leeds’ most recent win in Blackpool.
The day proved to be a small part of an enjoyable year for the visitors as the West Yorkshire side comfortably finished fourth and qualified for the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, meanwhile Blackpool finished bottom and were relegated.
The season after proved to be a case of ‘so near yet so far’ for both sides.
Leeds made it all the way to the final of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, incredibly winning their semi-final clash against Bologna on a coin toss, but lost out 2-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in the showpiece final. The Tangerines finished third in Division Two, one point off top spot, just missing out on an immediate return to the top tier.

After a couple of years away, Blackpool were back in the big time and produced a battling display against their title-challenging opponents.
Blackpool, who endured the record longest losing run in the division that year – seven games – finished the season bottom of the table, 11 points adrift of safety.
United finished the season as runners-up to Arsenal.

After a break of 41 years, the Whites made their 21st trip to Blackpool and the promotion-chasing hosts came out on top in a tense late-season encounter.
Angel Martinez was the only difference between the two sides, his 79th-minute strike securing the points for the hosts.
The midfielder pounced on a loose ball to down a determined United side who finished with ten men after Darren O’Dea was sent off for a second yellow card.
Pool went on to make the play-off final but fell to an agonizing 2-1 defeat to West Ham at Wembley.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2012 BLACKPOOL 2 LEEDS UNITED 1
Blackpool staged a superb late comeback to beat Leeds and continue their winning run at the start of the 2012/13 season.
The visitors took the lead when Tom Lees met a corner at the back post to head home.
But the Seasiders responded positively, Isaiah Osbourne hitting the post before Stephen Crainey found Nouha Dicko with a cross before the striker fired home from close range and Tom Ince set up Matt Phillips to score the winner with ten minutes to go.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2013 – BLACKPOOL 1 LEEDS UNITED 1
Tom Ince and Lee Peltier shared the goals as the sides took a point each in this entertaining Boxing Day clash.
Peltier put the visitors in front with his first goal for the club, heading in from Danny Pugh’s cross mid-way through the first half.
But Blackpool took charge after the interval and Ince’s deflected strike brought the hosts level with 25 minutes to play.
Despite their dominance, Blackpool struggled to create many clear-cut chances and United held out for a point.
