Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has sent a message to supporters after celebrating four years since his arrival at the club.

The 46-year-old media tycoon purchased an initial 50 per cent stake in the Elland Road outfit back in January 2017.

Radrizzani then completed a full takeover the following summer from former owner Massimo Cellino, who ended his turbulent three-year association in West Yorkshire by selling up to his Italian compatriot.

United's chairman has overseen huge changes in LS11 since his arrival, selling a small stake to NFL giants San Francisco 49ers in 2018 before seeing the Whites return to the Premier League last summer as Championship winners.

The appointment of head coach Marcelo Bielsa along with continued hard work off the field helped end 16 years of hurt for Leeds fans, who saw United regain top-flight status for the first time since the club's infamous relegation amidst financial turmoil in 2004.

"Yesterday [January 4] marked the fourth anniversary of my initial investment in Leeds United," Radrizzani tweeted.

"I want to thank all of those who have sent me so many amazing messages of support. I love this club and everyone who works so hard for it every day.

"Can't wait to make more memories together."

Radrizzani hinted at his long-term plans for Leeds in November, stating that outside investment may be welcomed in the near future.

He also discussed the possibility of a multi-club ownership model, similar to those set-up by energy drink giants Red Bull and City Football Group - Manchester City’s owners.

“We need two or three years of staying in the Premier League and then this club can really have the ambition to be close to the top six, or to climb even more," Radrizzani said.

“My model in football is Leicester; I think they have a good model, they run the club very well.

“That’s what I aspire to do but also with the acknowledgement that Leeds United, with all respect [to Leicester], is a much bigger brand internationally. It’s a big club."

He added: "I do believe that a consolidated group in football, with multiple club ownership, can be a benefit in terms of synergies and creating value in the development of the players and, in some cases, also on the commercial side.

“It’s something that I’m studying and exploring. I’m already in touch with some potential target clubs to acquire. I haven’t made any decisions yet."
