Marcelo Bielsa's side have seen an eleven point gap over third disappear in as many games with the Argentine's team now sitting second on goal difference alone in the standings ahead of Fulham.

Leeds make the trip to promotion rivals Brentford on Tuesday evening in league action looking to halt their dip in form and the Elland Road owner opted to send a message to the club's supporters in the wake of the loss at the City Ground.

"I understand your frustration," he tweeted.

"But I have seen a big effort; credit to Nottingham Forest [they] defended very well and a great goalkeeper performance. We are second, 15 games to go, best result the club has ever had since [it] was relegated.

"I believe in our players, manager and our loyal fans. Until the end. MOT."

He added later with another tweet: "One thing [that] frustrates me more than any defeat.

"I have been like a fan like you, travelling and supporting my team since I was a student and [had] no money. How can’t you support a team/club that have reached the best result of last 16 years! Being always in top 3 since August 2018. Night."

The Italian also described Twitter as a "platform for haters" in a reply to one supporter adding "it's time to be together and get what we all want."
