Adam Forshaw on the confidence that led to Leeds United's late showing at Luton Town

Adam Forshaw has revealed that Leeds United's squad always hold confidence of scoring late in games due to Marcelo Bielsa's fitness regime.

The Whites earned a hard-fought victory at Luton Town on Saturday afternoon as Patrick Bamford struck in the 90th minute to snatch all three points in the Championship clash.

United's centre forward had earlier put Leeds ahead after the half-time interval before the Hatters struck back through James Collins to level proceedings in a frantic few minutes.

Leeds battled back at Kenilworth Road and were rewarded just as time was about to expire with Mateusz Klich's low cross finding Bamford's darting run to the near post.

There was an element of luck in the goal as the ball took a deflection off Luton defender Matty Pearson which sparked wild celebrations from the 1,035 travelling supporters.

Forshaw - who remains sidelined with a hip injury - admitted that he and his team-mates always hold belief that they can battle until the end of games thanks to the training regime implemented at Thorp Arch.

"It's just fitness first and foremost," he told EFL on Quest of why he always thought a winner was coming.

"With that belief and ability we know late in games if we're coming strong we are going to create chances with the quality we've got."

The 28-year-old has missed the last two months of action with a side issue, but gave an insight into life under Bielsa at Elland Road.

"It is brilliant," Forshaw added.

"What he has done is transform the club. We finished 13th the year before (Bielsa joined the club) and he is a revelation.

"He is professional, the team spirit is up there now and we are expected to be in and about it at the end of the season.

"It is a cliche, but it's just the next game. We will work on the shape for the next team and who we come up against.

"You don't want to look too far ahead so we are taking it game by game."
