Carlo Ancelotti believes a lack of fans at grounds like Elland Road is why Everton and others are finding more joy on the road this season.

The Toffees left LS11 with three points thanks to first half goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin but had to withstand intense second half pressure from Leeds United.

Away from home Everton are now unbeaten in six, with five wins during that spell.

"This is the [pattern] of the season," said Ancelotti, who wants his team to match their away form at Goodison Park.

"All the teams have more possibilities to win away because there is no crowd in the stand. This is the reason. We've had a fantastic run away and we have to be more focused at home, we've lost a lot of games at home."

Ancelotti admitted his side came under fire after the break as Leeds created chances, but felt they dealt with it well and remained focused to secure three points.

"We had problems in the second half but the reaction of the team, the concentration of the team all the game was really good," he said.

"We conceded an easy goal too early, we were unable to play, they put us under more pressure. We had opportunities on the counter attack, two or three times we could have scored the third goal.

"After the defeat against Newcastle we needed this kind of performance.

"We played a really good first half, second half there were more problems to defend because we conceded a goal early. But the reaction of the team, the concentration of the team throughout the game was really good."
