Leeds United: Whites on a par with Sunderland and four points worse off than Barnsley over last 21 games

SATURDAY'S 2-1 loss at Norwich City once again left Leeds United joint-bottom of the Championship form table taken over the last 21 games with the Whites as bad over that period as marooned Sunderland and four points worse off than Barnsley.

Leeds have picked up only 15 points since their 2-1 success at Burton Albion on Boxing Day with the Whites still yet to win away from home this year.

Only Sunderland can match that poor return over that period and without the benefit of a decent start such as United's, the Black Cats have already been relegated to League One with the Wearsiders six points adrift at the foot of the division.

Following Saturday's 2-0 win at home to Brentford for Barnsley, United's return over the last 21 games is now four points worse than the offering recorded by the fourth-bottom Tykes with Barnsley only above the dropzone on goal difference.

Comparably, over the last 21 games, Fulham have taken 53 points - eight better than Aston Villa who are next best with 45.

United's return over their last 15 games is only one point more than the efforts of League Two strugglers Grimsby Town and no side in League One has a worse record.

Of the Premier League sides, only Stoke City have picked up less points in that period - with the Potters having taken one more point than the Whites - with United's return over the last 15 games the same as Championship-bound West Brom.

United's haul in that period is just one point better than Cowdenbeath's with the 'Blue Brazil' eight points adrift at the bottom of Scottish League Two.

There is, though, no toppling the efforts of Scottish Championship whipping boys Brechin City who have taken just one point from their last 21 games and indeed just one from their last 22.
