Fifth-placed Leeds will welcome the sixth-placed Owls for a televised Championship showdown with a 12.30pm kick-off for a clash that could be key to both sides’ play-off prospects.

Leeds had to settle for a point in Saturday’s trip to Ipswich Town and the Whites are now only marginally odds on to seal a play-off place.

Big-spending Yorkshire rivals Wednesday are next, with the Owls having won four games in a row before losing at home to Brentford last night – after which Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal was left fuming with referee Darren Bond.

Dallas knows the Owls will be tough opponents at Elland Road, especially with the Hillsborough outfit looking to avenge a 2-0 home loss in August.

But Leeds have won seven of their last eight games at Elland Road – with the likes of Derby, Reading and Aston Villa all sent packing – and Dallas sees no reason why Wednesday cannot be sent the same way.

“I think they have got to come to Elland Road fearing us,” said Dallas.

“I think our home record shows that this season.

“It’s a Yorkshire derby and we had a good result up there at the start of the season and they will be coming looking to get revenge.

“But we will go out, we will prepare right all week and we are looking forward to Saturday.”

Reflecting on United’s play-off pursuit in light of the 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town, Dallas added: “People are now expecting us to go to places and win whereas maybe this time last season we were thinking differently.

“But that’s all credit to everybody involved.

“A few people maybe a few weeks ago questioned whether we were good enough to maintain the challenge and we have bounced back last week with a good win.

“We will just keep going.

“If people want to write us off they can, if they want to talk us up they can, we will just concentrate on ourselves and there is no bigger game than this.

“You have got to win your home games and I have always said that anything you pick up away from home is a bonus.

“We have certainly done that this season and we have got a good home record as well as an away record.”
