Leeds United v Nottingham Forest: Last five meetings at Elland Road

United currently own the bragging rights over Dougie Freedman’s side, having won 28 of the fixtures between the two clubs since the very first in 1947, just ahead of Forest’s 26.

Leeds are looking to continue the form that helped them see off Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup fourth round, while Forest will be keen to get back to winning ways as they look for a late push up the table.

Leeds fought out a stalemate in a game of little excitement as Forest closed the gap on the Championship play-off places.

Charlie Taylor tested Karl Darlow just after the half hour mark, before Ben Osborn and Kelvin Wilson forced good saves from Marco Silvestri at the other end.

The second half saw Mirco Antenucci go closest to breaking the deadlock for Leeds, but for a fine save from Darlow to see out the draw.

Leeds United 0 Nottingham Forest 2 – April 21, 2014

The visitors moved to within a point of the play-off places after two early goals from Matt Derbyshire wrapped up three points for a dominating Forest side.

Derbyshire netted his first after just 91 seconds, before scoring his second on the 15 minute mark to send Leeds crashing to their sixth defeat in eight matches.

Ross McCormack came closest for the Whites, seeing two free-kicks drift just wide of the woodwork in a game that was in Forest’s hands from the off.

Leeds United 2 Nottingham Forest 1 – September 22, 2012

A first senior goal for Dominic Poleon and Luciano Becchio’s seventh goal of the season ended Forest’s unbeaten league record as Leeds narrowly avoided their third league defeat on the bounce.

El Hadji Diouf caused many a problem for the visitors, providing a cross for Becchio to sweep home to open the scoring.

Poleon doubled Leeds’ advantage just before the 25 minute mark, before Dexter Blackstock pulled back a consolation for the visitors on the hour, creating a nervy last 30 minutes for the Elland Road faithful.

Leeds United 3 Nottingham Forest 7 – March 20, 2012

Four goals from Garath McCleary contributed to Forest’s annihilation of a vulnerable Leeds side as the Whites conceded seven goals at home for the first time.

Robert Snodgrass put Leeds ahead with an early penalty, before goals from Adlene Guedioura, McCleary and Dexter Blackstock gave Forest the advantage.

Luciano Becchio and Michael Brown pulled Leeds level after the break, only for McLeary to hit three in just 15 minutes before Blackstock scored his second of the game to put the match to bed.

Leeds United 4 Nottingham Forest 1 – April 2, 2011

A brace from Max Gradel wrapped up a second-half surge for Leeds as they put four past 10-man Forest in a feisty contest at Elland Road.

After a red card for Forest’s Chris Cohen, Jonny Howson put Leeds ahead from close range, before a Luciano Becchio header doubled the home advantage.

Garath McCleary pulled back a consolation goal for the visitors, but it was too little too late for Forest as Gradel scored twice to secure all three points for Leeds, maintaining their strong play-off position.
