Evans is one of four bosses in contention for the prize, the second time he has been nominated for the monthly trophy in his short reign at Leeds.

The 53-year-old missed out on the December award despite Leeds going unbeaten through that month.

Three victories from four matches in March, including a first win away at Cardiff City since 1984, have earned him a second nomination alongside Cardiff’s Russell Slade, Rotherham United’s Neil Warnock and Burnley’s Sean Dyche.

Leeds striker Mirco Antenucci, meanwhile, is among the nominees for the player of the month award.

The Italian found his scoring touch with four goals in three matches, helping Leeds to three straight wins over Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff and Blackburn Rovers.

Sheffield Wednesday centre-back and former United player Tom Lees is also nominated along with Burnley’s Sam Vokes and Rotherham’s Lee Frecklington.

The winners of the two prizes will be announced tomorrow morning.
