The Yorkshiremen put in a below-par performance as they lost further ground on the automatic promotion places.

The Londoners enjoyed the better of the chances with Conor Washington wasting great chances either side of the break to snatch the win.

The Whites failed to create any clear cut chances with dangerman Chris Wood kept silent throughout.

“I’m so pleased with that performance,” said Holloway after the game. “A point was the least we deserved. The boys were brilliant against a good side

“We carved out the better chances. Our game-plan was to counter and take the game to them. And that’s what we did.

“Apart from taking the chances, we did everything we could. To come here and play like that, wow.

“We applied ourselves brilliantly against of the best teams in this league. On another day, we take all three points.

“Of course I’d have liked to have got the win we deserved – but to come here and play as well as we did is a good statement.

“That performance will do the lads the world of good.

“The supporters seemed to enjoy it. And that’s a good feeling for me.

“I tipped Leeds for the play-offs and I was happy to throw my hat in the ring because I know how good Garry is.”
