Leeds Sunday League/Claro League: East End Park are rocked by '˜foursome' Hutchinson

JOEL HUTCHINSON was in '˜foursome' form for East End Park WMC who kept the heat on leaders Chapeltown Fforde Grene with Sunday's 6-2 defeat of visitors West Leeds Farnley in the Terry Pears Premier.

Darryl Hargreaves and Liam Carney also netted for Park as strikes from Luke Henshaw and Gaz Lee failed to save the visitors. Leading 4-1 at half-time, the Clubmen were never in danger of not coming away with three points.

Leaders Chapeltown Fforde Grene were comfortable 5-1 home winners over Harehills WMC. Fforde were 4-0 up at half-time and extended the lead to 5-0 in the second half before the visitors netted a consolation.

Goals for Chapeltown came from Kane Clark, with a brace, plus Kane Blair, Kieron Goodison and Dave Allinson. Ricky Smith was the Harehills scorer.

The weekend’s other action came on the cups front with the Hope Leeds United Members Cup played between all the clubs in the league.

Premier Division side Richmond Hill took on Championship outfit Bramley Villagers and league positions held sway as Richmond sealed a 2-0 victory. Goals from James Cowlam and Nathan Swires settled the tie.

In the President’s Trophy, Kirkstall Crusaders were 5-0 home winners over West Leeds Armley. Martin Loveridge, with a double, Anthony Williamson, Stu Ashall and Ash Thompson bagged the goals for Kirkstall as they kept on track for a league and cup double.

West Leeds Wortley and East Leeds Celtic served up an eight-goal thriller at Armley Park that ended all square at 4-4. The West Leeds men on target were Aaron Batley and Jordan Webb who both netted twice.

The Celtic reply came from Adam Wood, with a brace, Joe Phillips and Liam Sandford.

Halfway House Bramley came away from a visit to lowly placed Western Juniors with a 4-0 victory.

They were helped with an own goal to go with efforts from Kurtis Heyes, Luke Backhouse and Joe Penman.

In the Claro League, Jonathan Hadley’s hat-trick led the scoring as title-chasing Kirk Deighton Rangers ran riot at Harrogate Cosmos in Division One on Sunday.

Hadley was on form as Rangers hammered struggling Cosmos 8-1, with Warren Clark (2), Adam Carter (2) and Charlie Yates also on the scoresheet.

The three points moved Rangers to one point behind league leaders Bramham who were without a game.

In Division Two, FC Harrogate played out a 2-2 draw at Headingley Rovers, with Dan Jackson scoring twice for the hosts. AFC Horsforth’s clash at home to Shadwell also ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
