Leeds Combination League: Morley's in at double to get Kippax off the mark

JOSH MORLEY bagged a crucial double as Kippax finally bagged their first win of the season in the Jubilee Premier with a 2-1 triumph at home to New Armley.

Morley’s brace outweighed the Armley effort of Mark Ferguson with Kippax now only three points behind third-bottom New Armley and two behind second-bottom Seacroft WMC.

Colton kicked four points clear of the bottom two with a 5-3 success at Bramley Town who dropped one place below them into sixth and just four points ahead of Kippax who have played two games fewer.

Ashley Bell’s brace together with strikes from Josh Goulg, Mikey Indian and Matty Booth brought up the Colton nap hand.

New Pudsey and Main Line Social had to settle for a point apiece in pursuit of runaway leaders Hope Inn Whites.

Hope Inn saw their FA Sunday Cup adventure ended through a 4-2 loss at Allerton with high-flying New Pudsey and visiting Main Line Social sharing a 3-3 draw in the Jubilee Premier. John Mallinson’s double was supported by a Joe Thorpe strike for New Pudsey with Bradley Francis White, Adam Fowler and Ryan Sharrocks all on target for Main Line.

The duo sit second and third respectively with both on eight points behind Hope Inn and while New Pudsey have a better goal difference, they have played one game more than the leaders with Main Line having a game in hand on them.

Fourth-placed HT Sports are also eight points adrift having played the same number of games as Hope Inn.

FC Armley Sundays moved four points clear at the top of the Premier Division as second-bottom visitors East End Park WMC were walloped 11-0.

At the bottom, Harehills WMC secured their first league win of the season with a 3-2 verdict at FC Horsforth Saints thanks to a brace from Ricky Smith plus a Paul Borthwick strike.

Saints drop to fifth and one behind The Woodcock AFC who rose to fourth with a 6-1 romp at fourth-bottom Moortown Albion whose Geoff Clarkson bagged a consolation.

Acorn (Bramley) remain top of Division One after a 3-2 verdict at second-bottom Sporting Pudsey.

Goals from Mickie Fletcher, Lee Jowett and Chris Simpson secured the victory with efforts from Farris Emara and Sam Marshall in vain for Pudsey.

Bardsey moved second with a 8-2 whipping of fourth-placed hosts Temple AFC.

Bardsey’s Jordan Deacey bagged a treble and Joel Deacey secured a brace with Tom Franklin, Lewis Hindley and Leon Walker adding a goal each.

True Brit dropped to third after a 5-1 reverse at home to Kirkstall Crusaders Academy who moved fifth and with games in hand on all the sides above them.

Faisel Sheikh was at the double for Kirkstall with Jaden Richards and Drew McMillan also netting as Blaine Watson provided the sole True Brit reply.

Oulton Athletic moved three points clear of the bottom two and into seventh with a 5-3 success at home to Commercial HQ who are now sixth.

Braces from Shaun Stead and Phil Negelein together with a Jordan Potts strike did the business for Oulton in the face of two Commercial replies from Chris Jones and one from Nick Sutcliffe.

DIVISION THREE high flyers Pudsey Athletic took the scalp of Division One hosts Northern Star, scooting in 7-1 away from home in the first round of the LUTY Cup, writes LEE SOBOT.

An Adam Cole hat-trick was backed up by braces from James Borrill and Matty Wood for Division Three’s second-placed side with Kieran Dunn netting in vain for the hosts who are bottom of Division One.

In league action, Old Crooked Clock moved top of Division Two on goal difference with a handy 6-1 win at home to basement-side visitors Sporting Pudsey Reserves.

Danny Harrison, Jamie Davies and Cameron Hardy struck three, two and one respectively for the hosts with Connor Ward consoling the visitors.

Clock lead FC Rothwell Sundays who soared 2-0 at sixth-placed West Yorkshire Falcons and Rothwell also have a game in hand.

There are six points back to third-placed Churwell who obliged 4-2 at Western Juniors who dropped to fifth.

Stan Lee Bube’s treble and an own goal saw Churwell to victory with Dave Morris and Carl Ferguson on target for Western.

Headingley Rovers moved out of the bottom two as a 3-1 success at Bramley Lions left the Lions second-bottom – two points and a place behind their victors.

Alex Burley’s double, together with a James Fearn strike, was enough for Rovers who also have two games in hand on Lions for whom Chris Fletcher netted.

Of the highlights in Division Three, leaders Athletico Bramley made it a perfect eight wins out of eight with a 5-1 triumph at fifth-placed New Inn Whites whose Dalton Pearson struck a consolation.

Third-placed Original Oak saw off seventh-placed visitors Bramley Amateurs 3-1 with goals from Gav Connor, Ollie Kemp and Ed Brittleton in the face of a Connor McCreadie strike.

AFC Elford went fourth with a 6-3 win at home to third-bottom New Armley Reserves while bottom two Republica Internationale and visiting FC West Leeds shared a 2-2 draw.

Riyadul Islam struck twice for Elford in their win.

Abdullah Farrukh, Rayhaan Pervais, Hassan Pervais and Hammad Ali also notched as goals from Shane Collins, Nick Foster and James Brown failed to save New Armley.

Mohammed Hamaway’s double bagged a point for Republica in their draw with West Leeds who remain bottom on goal difference with a tally of minus 54.
