Leeds Combination League: Horsforth rushing clear of danger thanks to Litvinov

Goals from Alhassane Keita and Nick Clarke couldn’t stop Fairweather climbing three points clear of their rivals. The result leaves Horsforth just within reach of Pudsey Liberal Club outside the bottom two, after Pudsey lost to Seacroft WMC.

In the solitary Premier League fixture, New Parnaby edged out Badri 4-3 in an enthralling encounter. A brace from Chris Storey, plus goals from Gareth Wilkinson and Kyle Swithenbank helped lift New Parnaby out of the bottom two.

In Division One, Kippax Band Club took a step closer to the league title, with an 8-2 win over relegated Original Oak.

Braces from Mark Owen and Richard Jackson, one from Danny Birkin and a Nicky Mooring hat-trick sealed a comprehensive win, Daniel Raymond replying for Oak.

Swillington Welfare and Amaranth Sundays kept their promotion pushes alive, defeating Garforth Sports and Leodis United respectively. Both have games in hand on Kippax.

Oulton Athletic had Daniel Rose to thank for their 4-3 win over KKS Zubry, scoring an impressive hat-trick after Thomas Lee had scored the first.

Chapel Allerton snuck past Broadway 3-2, thanks to a brace from Dave Martyn and one from Jason Watt, goals from Liam Parkinson and Steve Kelling not enough for Broadway.

In Division Three, Halfway kept the pressure on leaders Moortown Albion with an impressive 5-1 win at promotion rivals, Horsforth Saints. A hat-trick from Elliot Heeds ensured the three points, Dale Hague and Lee Robinson also on the scoresheet. Richard Hall scored a late consolation for Saints.

Elsewhere, Moortown ground out a 1-0 win away to Republica International to retain their seven-point advantage at the top. Northern Star overcame West Leeds Reserves 4-3, Martin Evans, Stuart Brown, Ryan Smith and Kieron Dieghan getting a goal apiece. A Rob Fenton strike and an Adam Hepworth brace made for a close encounter. Division Three’s big winners were Acorn (Bramley), who smashed eleven past hapless Temple. Matthew Lofthouse helped himself to four, Mickie Fletcher three, with Charlie Upton and Peter Gittings getting two each. Temple remain second-bottom.

Yorkshire Black Rose picked up a win at Wortley Knights. A brace from Bradley Johnson and a goal from Alan Pilkington were enough to secure a 3-1 victory.

Beechwood Sundays fell to their first defeat of the season in the big Division Two clash on Sunday, against title rivals Millshaw Park Rangers.

Beechwood had won 5-1 over Bedford Arms on Thursday, braces from Craig McDonagh and Stephen Cooper, plus goals from Glenroy Hilton and Anthony Toulson securing victory, Jack Broadhead replying for the visitors.

But an own goal gifted Millshaw a priceless 3-2 win over Beechwood, Scott Carter and Nat Welsh scoring braces respectively. Millshaw are now just two points behind the leaders, who have a game in hand.

Royal Park Leeds and Commercial HQ played out a 2-2 draw, with Dan Riley, Jamie Halsall, Ryan McGee and Michael Hartley all finding the net. Both met on the back of midweek victories, a solitary Neil Sutcliffe goal enough for Commercial over West Leeds on Tuesday, whilst Royal Park Leeds edged out Bramley Town 3-2, thanks to another Halsall strike and a Scott Smith brace.

Corpus Christi continued their fine form with a 6-0 over Bedford Arms, Liam Jordan, Kane Woods and Phil Jarvis complimenting a Liam Attwood hat-trick.

AFC Travellers kept hopes of survival alive with a 4-2 win over Waterintobeer. Lee Shearer and Lukas Safranak scored for the visitors, but an own goal and strikes from Gordon Booth, Jordan Coop and Daniel Flesher secured a vital win.

Winless West Leeds lost again to Sporting Pudsey, goals from Chris Parkin and Rob Miller still not enough to avoid a 3-2 defeat.

Bramley Town smashed seven past East Leeds to keep their promotion dream alive. The 7-2 scoreline leaves just six points between the top three, Bramley having played two games less than leaders Beechwood Sundays.
