Guiseley started the brighter, Gabriel Johnson was denied by Adam Collin, while Mark Howarth put in a good delivery that had to be cleared by the home side.

Kettering nearly got in front, when a long throw found Sam Jones who picked his spot, his shot was well denied by Brad Wade and he used strong hands to clear the effort away.

The hosts would take the lead just past the half-hour mark, when a loose pass was intercepted by Connor Kennedy who worked his way towards goal and shot low into the bottom corner.

Guiseley themselves had the ball in the net with an hour gone, but Gabriel Johnson was ruled to have been offside.

But soon after, a ball through midfield found Adam Haw, who was through on goal.

A flag was raised but the referee let play go on, with the final touch coming from a Kettering player, the young striker got past Town keeper Adam Collin and scored his first senior goal.

Kettering’s Ryan Fryatt would then force Wade into another smart save, as he tipped a looping header away.

Guiseley with minutes to go had a glorious chance to win it, with Haw brought down and Lebrun Mbeka took the penalty but Collin dived correctly and saved the effort.

In fact the hosts nearly won it with Lorne Bickley somehow being denied by Wade who superbly kept the scores level as the game came to an end.

Guiseley are back on their travels on Saturday as they face AFC Telford United.
