Sam Byram may seem like he is on the way to Everton, but both the Guardian and the Daily Express are reporting that West Ham could look to offer him an alternative for his anticipated move away from Leeds United. The Guardian are also suggesting that Newcastle are keen on Byram, with the pair of Premier League stalwarts expected to make moves over the next few days. Roberto Martinez has said he expects Byram’s situation to be clearer come Monday.

He said: “There is nothing concrete. It is still in the early stages and everything will develop over the next few days. It is looking more like Monday before anything else happens. We have a good relationship with Leeds and we will be allowed to speak to the player.”

Sheffield Wednesday are on the cusp of agreeing a new contract with Glenn Loovens, according to the Sheffield Star. Loovens would follow the likes of Barry Bannan and Atdhe Nuhiu, who have both signed new contracts over the last two days. He is expected to sign a new two-and-a-half-year deal.

Derby County are apparently readying a bid for Hull City defender Andy Robertson. The Rams are expected to offer around £7 million for the former Dundee United left-back, according to Scottish newspaper the Daily Record.
