Max Gradel may be back in the Bournemouth squad that travels to Everton.

Gradel missed the home defeat to Chelsea with the calf problem that saw him withdrawn during the previous game against Liverpool but the forward has improved this week and could return to contention in the Barclays Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

However, Cherries boss Eddie Howe remains uncertain how long full-back Adam Smith (groin) and midfielder Harry Arter (Achilles) will be sidelined.

Provisional squad: Boruc, Cook, Daniels, Francis, Elphick, Surman, Stanislas, Ritchie, Gosling, Gradel, King, Federici, Wiggins, O’Kane, MacDonald, Pugh, Grabban, Wilson.

Everton are once again facing serious defensive worries for the visit of Bournemouth.

Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman both have hamstring injuries, Ramiro Funes Mori is suspended and Gareth Barry is out with a groin strain.

That could lead to a debut for Matthew Pennington, while young striker Kieran Dowell is also under consideration to make his senior bow.

Provisional squad: Robles, Oviedo, Stones, Baines, Besic, McCarthy, Lennon, Cleverley, Barkley, Deulofeu, Lukaku, Dowell, Howard, Connolly, Davis, Pienaar, Kone, Osman, Mirallas, Niasse, Pennington.
