Crystal Palace will be without Joel Ward against leaders Manchester City after the right-back was ruled out for up to a month with a knee injury.

Connor Wickham is doubtful with a knock and fellow striker Marouane Chamakh has suffered an abductor injury so Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford is set to start in attack.

Midfielder Yohan Cabaye is available despite going off with a groin problem while playing for France, and goalkeeper Julian Speroni is fit after a hand injury to challenge Alex McCarthy.

Manchester City playmaker David Silva has been ruled out of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to Crystal Palace with an ankle injury.

The Spaniard is expected to be fit for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Juventus but midfielder Fabian Delph (hamstring) faces a month out with the injury suffered on international duty.

Bacary Sagna is fit after an ankle scare but fellow full-backs Pablo Zabaleta (knee) and Gael Clichy (ankle) remain sidelined. New signings Kevin de Bruyne and Nicolas Otamendi are in contention to make debuts.
