Boss Clough: Burton are on a great learning curve

Clough said: “That’s what it’s been like for us away from, things are just not falling our way.

“We have to remember that we are Burton Albion playing at Leeds, we are playing against a massive team. Leeds are a good team and this is a very hard place to come.

“This season is a great learning curve for the players who are learning all the time.

“I felt that we played well today despite the defeat. If we keep playing like that then our first away win will not be too far away.

“I thought that we defended and battled well today. We stuck in there for a long time and were very close to getting what would have been a valuable point.

“We had our chances and if Palmer’s header had gone in things could have been different.

“We will keep fighting and be ready for another big game against Barnsley next Saturday.”

Next up for United are Norwich City, whose boss oss Alex Neil apologised to fans and promised personnel changes after the Canaries “humiliating” 5-0 thrashing at promotion rivals Brighton.

Neil said: “I will be changing it now.

“Certain players have let themselves down and have not performed at anywhere near what they’re capable of. I apologise to the fans.”
