Dallas has suffered a reaction to the ankle problem that he picked up on international duty with Northern Ireland while Lasogga has taken a knock to his leg.

Both have chances of returning for the Whites in next Friday’s Championship clash with Aston Villa at Elland Road.

Lasogga was absent for last Sunday’s 2-1 win at home to Middlesbrough, with Whites head coach Thomas Christiansen explaining that the Hamburg loanee had been ill.

The 25-year-old was again missing for Wednesday night’s 4-1 loss at leaders Wolves and Christiansen says the forward suffered a knock to his leg in training after earlier being sick.

Dallas, meanwhile, who came on as a 77th-minute substitute during Wednesday’s loss at Molineux, has experienced problems following the injury he picked up whilst bidding to help Northern Ireland seal qualification for next year’s World Cup in their first-leg qualifying play-off against Switzerland.

Dallas recovered to play the full 90 minutes of the second leg of that tie but a reaction to the initial injury meant the winger was not involved for United’s clash against Boro.

The 26-year-old returned to come on in the second-half at Wolves but further problems will force him out of tomorrow’s derby at Oakwell.

Christiansen revealed: ”After the game, he felt some problem from the kick he got with the national team.

“We thought it was best to leave him out so he can recover well for the next game.

“He was with the team because he said he felt much better and he got 15 minutes but he felt uncomfortable and we feel it’s better for him to recover.

“He’s a very good player and we just need to have him back fit.”

Asked if Lasogga would be in the squad to face Barnsley, Christiansen explained: “He will not. Perhaps he will be ready for the Aston Villa game.

“If I can not come with him, he’s not in my plans and I have to focus on the ones who will be available.

“He was sick in the beginning. Then in training he got a knock.

“He can be available for Villa.”
