Aston Villa v Arsenal: Latest team news

Have your say

Arsenal expect to have defender Calum Chambers (tonsillitis) and midfielder Mathieu Flamini (groin) available for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League trip to Aston Villa after not playing in the midweek away European defeat to Dortmund.

Midfielder Jack Wilshere should shake off an ankle knock, but defender Nacho Monreal (back) remains out.

Full-back Mathieu Debuchy is sidelined by an ankle ligament injury, the full extent of which is still being assessed and striker Yaya Sanogo (hamstring) is still not match fit, while winger Theo Walcott (knee) continues his recovery. Midfielder Serge Gnabry (knee) remains out and France forward Olivier Giroud (fractured foot) is a long-term absentee.

Provisional Squad: Szczesny, Gibbs, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Chambers, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Sanchez, Ozil, Welbeck, Ospina, Rosicky, Campbell, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski, Flamini, Bellerin.
