Pouring over the data which breaks down when goals have been scored and conceded so far this season may be an onerous exercise, but it brings up some fascinating observations and here are a few.

Name the two Championship sides who have not yet scored in the opening fifteen minutes of a home league game so far this season?

It will come as a surprise to many that one of those teams is Leeds United, although the identity of the other in Bristol City is perhaps not so much of a shock.

In fact, Leeds have not scored in the first 15 minutes of matches at Elland Road for two seasons. The last early Leeds goal to be scored at home was a Billy Sharp strike against Watford in 2015 - 48 matches ago.

On the flip side, the Whites' defensive statistics in the first half of games in 2016-17 make for rather more pleasant reading for supporters.

Leeds have conceded fewer goals - ten - in the opening 45 minutes of league matches than any other Championship side, with their concession of just two goals in the first half of fixtures at Elland Road representing the best home goals against figure in the division too.

Garry Monk's side are also the only Championship side not to let in a home goal in the fifteen-minute period leading up to the interval and even accounting for their slow start to games coming forward, their defensive resolution certainly helps to compensate.
