Featherstone Rovers: Morrison injury may spark player hunt

LUCKLESS Iain Morrison's latest injury could force Featherstone Rovers into the transfer market.

Prop Morrison is facing two months on the sidelines after breaking a finger in Rovers' 32-22 Northern Rail Cup win at York City Knights two days ago.

Coach Daryl Powell said: "I feel for him.

"Iain had a period out last year with his knee and he has done this in his second game back.

"We've already lost Ross Divorty, so it leaves us a bit light up front. I could potentially be looking for a dual-registration prop.

"Certainly if anything else happens we are going to need to find someone."

Meanwhile, Powell was happy with his team's second successive win, despite York giving the scoreline some respectability with two late tries.

"We were in control in really tough conditions," he said. "It was raining, slippery and the pitch was like a postage stamp.

"They came at us and were pretty physical. We had to work hard to get

the result and we did.

"It was a strong performance, while not being at our best."

Rovers' Big Fellas Stadium will stage a universities clash between Leeds Met and Edgehill tomorrow (7.30pm). Admission is free.
