The new pairing of Daley, 21, who won the men’s 10-metre platform World Series gold in London, and City of Leeds Diving Club star Blagg, 18, also won bronze in the previous mixed three-metre synchro World Series event in Canada.

After Saturday’s sensational day’s diving in Merida, the successful pool partners turned to social media to express their delight at their joint and individual results.

Blagg tweeted: “So happy with all performances in Mexico! International best in individual and to top it all off 3rd in mixed sync!

Daley was also quick to express his feelings and tweeted: “Another bronze for Alicia and I in the Mixed Synchro 3m Springboard :) very happy!”
