Dewsbury Rams: Jowitt buzzing at display

Dewsbury Rams coach Warren Jowitt is "buzzing" after his side's performance in their pre-season clash with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats – despite the 30-10 defeat.

Rams – including new signing Matty Brooke, who was at Sheffield Eagles last year – came through injury-free and Jowitt enthused: "We played really well, I was very pleased.

"The scoreline didn't reflect the game at all. We had a try disallowed and bombed a clear opportunity – one Austin Buchanan will remember for the rest of his life.

"They scored three tries in the first half because of our poor decisions in defence.

"They also scored right at the start of the second half but they didn't score again until the last minute.

"We squandered a lot of opportunities and the scoreline could easily have been 24-18 to us."

Jowitt – whose side are at home to Bradford Bulls on Sunday – added: "There's a lot to build on, massive positives came out of the

game.

"It has given me a bit of a buzz because of how well we played."
