Hundreds of Yorkshire fans made the 90-minute journey down the M1 in anticipation of their team lifting the trophy as the celebrations carried on for most of the day.

After a busy few days of media interviews and TV appearances, Jason Gillespie found time to visit the offices of The Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post to talk about his team’ success and how the club hopes to build on it over the coming years.

Speaking of the success, Gillespie said: “I’m proud as punch of the lads.

“I know what they’ve done to get to this point, and it’s their hard work that has paid off now.

“All the hill running in early December, the early starts, the hard graft working on their specific skills.

“I’ve seen how hard they’ve worked, and I’m absolutely delighted for them.”
