Saturday saw Yorkshire’s poor weather cause havoc across the Dales Council A Division, with four of six scheduled fixtures abandoned.

However, the A Division saw two completed ties.

Leeds Sikh A won their match against Farnley Hill by 10 wickets.

Manish Parimoo put together a good display for Leeds while batting, hitting 42 as his side managed 77-0. Farnley Hill could only hit 74 during their innings.

Bradford Moor won the other game that went ahead, beating Halifax Direct by three wickets.

Halifax’s efforts while batting would have been enough in most other games. Muhammad Chaand hit 66 and Naz Khan notched 58. However, Mohammed Asghar hindered their batting efforts, taking six wickets for only 47 runs.

Naveed Andrabi was the key player for Bradford as they put together a total of 216-7, with Andrabi hitting 66.

Cookridge A will have been disappointed that their tie against Pudsey Congs was abandoned after their innings.

They scored 246-7 while batting. Tahseen Suleman hit a staggering 111 while Jhangir Gulzar ran for 63.

Pudsey St Lawrence hit 173-9 during their innings, with Matthew Beckett’s 48 their top score at the crease. They struggled against the excellent bowling of Uzmat Munir, who took four wickets for 33 runs. Thornbury did not bat.

Tong Park Esholt were able to bat in their clash against New Wortley, who hit 206, but the game was abandoned mid-innings after Tong Park had managed 67-8.

Mohammed Saeed Mirza was impressive when batting for Wortley, hitting 55. Louis Morton bowled well for Tong Park, taking four wickets for 45.

In the B Division, Adel (191) lost against Baildon A (215-8), despite Stuart Galpin’s 110 runs while batting.
