Sound batting from Zach Wheatley (44no) and Damon Gormley (33no) saw Yeadon home after Birstall made 145-7, batting first, with Max Maciver taking 3-27.

Yeadon have a game in hand on Batley, who had reached 36-2 before the weather intervened against Liversedge, for whom Jessie Dinnie had earlier top-scored with a solid 67 in their innings of 155-7.

Runaway Championship B leaders Townville needed just under nine overs to race to victory at Hartshead Moor, recording their 17th victory of an outstanding campaign.

After dismissing Moor for 101, Jack Hughes claiming 3-19, Townville stormed to their target in 8.5 overs for the loss of just one wicket.

Conor Harvey blasted 55 from just 22 balls, with the prolific Jonathan Booth ending on 45 not out as the visitors powered to a comprehensive nine-wicket win.

Some 49 points adrift of Townville in second are Wrenthorpe, whose batsman Luke Patel was left unbeaten on 103 in his side’s reply of 215-4 after Gomersal opened with 293-5.

Jonathan Boynton hit a marvellous 144 in Gomersal’s card, but the weather was the ultimate winner.

All-rounder Marcus Walmsley (5-25 and 67) was the star turn as Methley, 19 points behind Wrens, beat Altofts.
