Boxing: Olympic gold medalist Adams cruises through to the quarter-finals in Baku
Leeds boxer Nicola Adams convincingly won her opening fight in the European Games in Baku today on a unanimous points decision against Hungarian opponent Katalin Ancsin.
Olympic gold medal winner Adams won all four rounds in her 48-51kg category fight and didn’t drop a single point from the judges meaning she scored a perfect 40 points from each judge.
She now moves onto the quarter-finals on Monday where she will face Bulgarian Stoyka Petrova for a spot in the semi-finals.
