Adams had been seeking a world title fight at the earliest available opportunity with the Leeds star looking to unify the division and win all four belts on offer before retiring.

Adams said: “I’ve been asking Frank for a while now to get me a world-title fight and I’ll show on October 6th that it’s my time.”

Adams will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Leeds’ Josh Warrington who became IBF featherweight champion of the world in May when defeating Lee Selby at Elland Road.
