The victory earned him Fighter of the Year and Upset of the Year awards by The Ring.

In 2016, Fury vacated the WBA, WBO, IBO, and lineal titles following a personal issues, and two cancellations of the Klitschko rematch.

Now he is back and after two warm-up fights he is feeling ready to challenge the best once again.

And the biggest fight in heavyweight boxing is now on.

Wilder says a date for their showdown - expected to be held in the USA - will be announced “over the coming days” with them expected to go toe-to-toe before the end of the year.

Fury, with a 27 professional fight unbeaten record, including 19 wins by knockout, is confident. In an Instagram story video he said: “Training is going fantastically well. The fight with Wilder is about to be announced – all done nearly.

“I just want to keep my fans and all the people that are interested updated.

“I feel more motivated for this fight than ever and I really can’t wait to put on a show for my fans.

“I feel like I owe you this win. I’m doing it for you guys."
