Burmantofts ABC press officer Frank Johnson says the world is Jack Bateson’s oyster following another scintillating boxing success for Leeds.

Bateson and Kellys ABC duo Jack Daniel and Oliver Simpson were all crowned national champions in last weekend’s Class B CYP finals at Elland Road.

It was a remarkable fifth national championship for Bateson and Johnson has no doubts that considerably more success will follow.

He said: “Jack is Junior ABA champion, Commonwealth champion and now All England champion.

“I don’t think it has been done before and certainly not in Leeds.”

Buramantofts also saw Qais Ashfaq this week add another gold to his collection when he beat three top-level internationals at the prestigious Tammer Tournament in Finland.

the feel-good factor is also sweeping Kellys ABC with the success of Daniel and Simpson.

“I’m the proudest man in Leeds,” said club coach Jason Gledhill.

“We’re hoping that these two are going to inspire the younger kids coming through.”

Meanwhile, in a show in Harlow, Essex, West Leeds ABC’s rising star Dexter Thomas lost in the Class A finals by the slimmest of margins.
