Before Ultimate Boxxer, Young , who only started boxing when he was 17, had four professional fights, one of which being the Josh Warrington and Nicola Adams undercard at the Leeds Arena in May. In this fight he beat Northern Ireland boxer Alec Bazza on points.

Young told the Yorkshire Evening Post:“I feel like I did well considering I was classed as the rank outsider. I will only learn and be a better fighter down to this and it was a great learning experience for me.”

Young thanked his sponsorship deal from Clipper Logistics and his trainers Mick Marsden and Shaun Priestley for all their support.
