Blackpool v Liverpool: Latest team news UPDATED

Blackpool will be without their captain Charlie Adam when they host Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League on Boxing Day.

Adam picked up his fifth booking of the season on December 11 at Stoke and is yet to serve the resulting one-match suspension as the Seasiders' scheduled game against Tottenham last weekend was postponed.

Matt Gilks, Chris Basham, Billy Clarke (all knee), Marlon Harewood (hamstring) and Louis Almond (shoulder) remain sidelined by injury.

Provisional squad: Kingson, Eardley, Cathcart, Crainey, Evatt, Vaughan, Varney, Taylor-Fletcher, Campbell, Grandin, Phillips, Edwards, Carney, Euell, Sylvestre, Keinan, Southern, Ormerod, Halstead, Baptiste.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will return from a six-week absence for the Boxing Day match against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

The 30-year-old midfielder's comeback from a hamstring tear sustained on England duty was delayed at the weekend after snow forced the postponement of the Barclays Premier League game at home to Fulham.

Centre-back Daniel Agger has also finally recovered from a complicated calf problem which has sidelined him since September 25.

Provisional squad: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Kuyt, Meireles, Lucas, Rodriguez, Gerrard, Torres, Jones, Kelly, Aurelio, Poulsen, Cole, Ngog, Babel, Agger, Shelvey.
