Leeds Force suffered a heavy defeat away to the Worcester Wolves going down 112- 62 in a difficult night on the road.
Leeds had no response to the Wolves’ strength and power to the rim as they lost by a margin of 50 points.
Only Rob Sandoval and Rob Marsden managed to put up double-figure points for Leeds, while seven players did so for the Wolves.
The Force were hit hard by the Wolves early in the first as they found themselves 11-3 down in the opening minutes.
Worcester didn’t let up with the lead as they extended their run to 16-3 as the Force struggled to cope with the Wolves attack.
The Force could only put up the odd basket in the first as the hosts put together regular runs to end the opening 10 minutes 31-15 up.
It was a difficult start for the Force in the second, too, as the Wolves put up an early 8-0 run that was finally ended by Eddie Matthew’s triple.
Leeds grew into the second as they found the basket with more consistently than in the first, with Marsden putting up eight points.
Worcester were still finding the Leeds basket regularly to keep a comfortable lead as at the halfway stage they led by 21 points.
The night didn’t get any easier for coach Matt Newby’s men as they struggled to break down the Wolves and put meaningful runs together to close the gap.
Sandoval and Disraeli Lufadeju did combine for a 7-3 run for Leeds but the Wolves responded with an 8-0 run of their own as they flexed their muscle outscoring Leeds 21-15 in the period.
The night was compounded in the final quarter as the Wolves put up the most points of the game with 34.
The Force could only respond with their lowest of the match – 11.
That relentless scoring made it easy for the rampant home side to break the 100-point barrier.
Leeds will need to get over this loss quickly as they face the Plymouth Raiders at home on Sunday afternoon.
Mid-table Raiders have won both their previous matches against Leeds this season.
