Basketball: Leeds Force swoop for GB international Van Oostrum

Leeds Force have announced the loan signing of GB international Devon Van Oostrum.

The 6’3” guard is considered by many to be the best British basketball player of his generation and has been plying his trade in Croatia and Finland this season. Leeds Force head coach Matt Newby said: “The opportunity to bring in a player of Devon’s calibre in at this juncture of the season is very exciting and is a game changer in terms of what we do on the floor.”

Van Oostrum, who is currently under contract with Laboral Kutxa Baskonia in Spain, hails from Yorkshire and said: “I am excited for the opportunity given to me by Leeds Force.”

He will make his Leeds debut at home to Plymouth University Raiders tomorrow evening (tip off 7.30pm).
