Gateway was established in 2008 as a small business serving Birkenshaw and the surrounding area.
Run by husband and wife team Richard and Emma Arnold, through word of mouth and reputation for caring the business has grown – and now sons Bailey and Charlie are part of the family team, too.
It has also opened sites in Batley and Wibsey.In his time working for another funeral director, Richard saw how families struggled, not only with the loss of a loved one but with all the logistical demands this placed upon them.
“I wanted to create a space where families could breathe,” said Richard. “One that would feel more like a home than a business.”
“Our approach is simple,” added Emma. “Every person who walks through our doors is treated like family.”
“As well as services, we offer support, guidance and a shoulder to lean on.”
