They are one of the nation’s most well-known pizza brands that, in the run-up to the festive season, have decided to give something back by reaching out to the UK’s unsung heroes.

PizzaExpress has launched a new initiative, Share A Smile, that will give £12,000 to community heroes this Christmas.

The pizza eatery is calling on the public to nominate people they think deserve a special thank you.

And the big-hearted company will then give the 12 deserving members of the public chosen a prize worth £1,000 each – a year’s worth of pizza – as a small thank you.

To nominate those unsung members of the public, people just need to head to pizzaexpress.com/shareasmile and follow instructions from there.

PizzaExpress is asking the nation to ‘share a smile’ this Christmas, by nominating members of their community who have gone above and beyond in 2020.

The 12 special winners of the Share a Smile initiative can enjoy their taste sensation pizza bonanza prize at their leisure, so that they can celebrate good times, together with their nearest and dearest.

There’s no denying that this year has been tough.PizzaExpress bosses say, if we’ve learned anything recently, it’s that the little things count.

Who is the best?

From charitable efforts to help those in need to the “small stuff” such as grocery shopping for neighbours or simply checking in on others to make sure that they are coping, the pizza-maker wants to celebrate those who have made the last 12 months all the more bearable for everyone.

It’s simple to nominate

All you have to do is just go to pizzaexpress.com/shareasmile and follow the link or visit PizzaExpress Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media channels.

And tag the person you think deserves a well-earned thank you using #ShareASmile2020 hashtag.The tasty treat initiative began on November 11 and will run until midnight on November 22.T&Cs can be found on the website.

A panel of judges will then choose the winners and the PizzaExpress team will announce those winners (with a bit of pomp and circumstance) on December 7.

PizzaExpress Managing Director Zoe Bowley commented: “This has been a difficult year for so many people and we, like so many, have been amazed and heartened by the kindness we’ve seen.”

She added: “In the run-up to Christmas, we want to put a spotlight on those who have been selfless and supportive and who, quite frankly, deserve a bit of a treat.

We’re looking forward to seeing the entries and I have no doubt it’s going to be a difficult choice choosing just 12 winners.”
