THE British reaction to not getting the 2018 World Cup is not sour grapes, it is the sense of being humiliated by only receiving one vote from people who not only promised their support, but who are at best under a cloud in more ways than one.
But FIFA should now beware.
They have made very harsh enemies of the British press, particularly the tabloids, and I suspect if any member of FIFA so much as hiccups in an odd way in the future, he can look forward to banner headlines.
FIFA are about to find out that the British make very loyal friends, but the bitterest of enemies, especially when we see that others are just taking the mickey!
