Letter: Trolleybus route brings another threat to bus stops

Have your say

I was much heartened by Alison’s Bellamy’s article on the ‘Victory for pensioner over Leeds bus stop battle’ (YEP, May 21) where, for once, the local authorities seem to have realised that local buses are there to serve the needs of local residents, and not just the interests of commuters coming in from outside.

Yet, those of us living near the proposed trolleybus route – where there is also an ageing population – are threatened with the loss of many convenient bus stops in order that Metro should be able to claim a saving of a matter of minutes in the run in from the outskirts.

What inconsistency!
