I totally agree with Councillor Procter that we must build the best transport system for the Leeds city region for future growth and prosperity.
The high speed 2 rail project for Leeds Bradford airport in the future means we should think big.
If government funding is forthcoming MPs and councillors of all parties should lobby for the best deal.
Supertram should be top priority even if it is built in stages, for affordability.
Look at Manchester tram system now expanding to new places like Oldham and Rochdale. If they can be ambitious so can Leeds.
In the future re-open or construct new rail stations and lines with more electrification, including park and ride facilities ie tram/trains Leeds-Harrogate-York.
Re-open Garforth-Kippax-Castleford branch line, with a circular journey to Leeds.
Let us hope that the past years of wasted money and slow progress can be reversed (I live in hope).
As far as transport is concerned it is not Leeds leads but Leeds lags at present.
