Young woman arrested after man, 60, stabbed in the chest.

A 19-year-old woman is being held by police after a man was attacked in the early hours of this morning.

The teenager approached the 60-year-old who had just got out of a taxi on Old York Road, Seacroft, Leeds around 1am this morning.

Det Insp Mark Bowes of Leeds CID, said the woman, who was arrested nearby, was “unknown” to the injured man.

He added: “The injuries he suffered are consistent with having been stabbed to the chest and he is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

“Significant police resources were deployed to the area to search for the suspect.

“A 19-year-old woman was arrested near to the scene of the incident and is currently in custody.

“We would urge anyone with information which could aid the ongoing investigation to call Leeds District CID on 101.”
