Yorkshire home buyers get the chance to go up, up and away

York’s first ever balloon fiesta takes place at the end of this month and housebuilder Redrow Homes will be flying its hot air balloon on Saturday, September 30.

To mark the occasion Redrow is holding a free prize draw for visitors to its Yorkshire developments this weekend (September 16/17) and until Wednesday, September 20.

All they have to do is fill in their details and they could win a voucher for a champagne hot air balloon flight for two people at a choice of 100 locations across the UK.

Entry forms will be available at Redrow developments in York, Harrogate, Newton Kyme, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Horsforth, Morley and Steeton.

Those who miss out on entering the pre-show competition will get a second bite of the cherry if they attend the York Balloon Fiesta, which is being held at The Knavesmire, York, from September 29 – October 1st. Around 50 balloons are due to fill York’s skies during the three-day spectacular.

Redrow sales staff will be at the show on Saturday and Sunday and would-be home owners who register their details will be entered into another free prize draw to win a second champagne balloon flight voucher for two people.

And, as a bit of extra fun, those who take a ‘selfie’ of themselves with Redrow’s hot air balloon in the background on the Saturday and upload to Twitter with the hashtag #redrowballoon could win a bottle of champagne.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “The Redrow balloon will be taking part in the festival on the Saturday, including the early morning balloon lift scheduled for 7.15am, the mass afternoon launch at around 4.30pm and the night glow at 8.30pm, when a handful of balloons will tether and light up the night’s sky to a specially commissioned soundtrack. We can’t wait to take part.

“We thought it would be nice to share our excitement with customers and what better way than to offer them a chance to fly in a hot air balloon themselves.”
