Staff at the city’s branches spent more than 1,979 hours helping out at charities in their communities including Meanwood Valley Urban Farm, Leeds Emmaus and St George’s Crypt.

Louise Neil, YBS community manager for volunteering, said: “As an organisation our most valuable asset is our colleagues who have a wealth of experience and skills to share with others. I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to us breaking our record number of hours for volunteering.” Every YBS colleague can take 31 hours’ paid leave every year to help out at a charity of their choice.
