YEP Says: Will a digital NHS be cure-all or not?

Have your say

GIVEN the extent to which healthcare has been transformed since the inception of the NHS, it goes without saying that digital technology will play an increasingly important role and it is encouraging that Leeds City Region executives want to be at the vanguard of such developments.

Nevertheless, this will strike fear into the hearts of those people, particularly the elderly, who are not computer literate or who do not have access to adequate broadband technology. If this technology – highlighted at the Leeds Digital Festival – is to become the cure-all for the NHS, it will need to be patient-proofed from the outset.
