YEP says: We salute RAF100 Appeal and its roots in Leeds

Many people will know that Leeds is the proud home of the original Marks and Spencer, but few will know the role played in starting the RAF Cadets.

Thankfully that will now change with a new exhibition at the M&S company archive in Leeds, which is telling this remarkable story.

And that philanthropic nature continues today with the RAF100 Appeal. This time M&S is asking customers to help raise £500,000 which will be used to provide scholarships, training and university bursaries for air cadets and school pupils from underprivileged backgrounds. Knowing the history behind this appeal will make giving even more heartfelt.
