YEP Says: Senior Leeds GP must be heard

Have your say

When a senior GP of 33 years in the job looks you square in the eye and tells you the NHS is terminally ill, you really ought to listen.

Dr Peter Shevlin is not crying wolf. In an impassioned plea to anyone in Whitehall who cares to listen, he is sincerely warning that never have so many people given so much of themselves to a cause that is apparently doomed to collapse. GPs are at breaking point, he insists.

If the NHS really is ‘terminally ill’ then all of our loved ones’ are in peril.

Just how many lives have to be lost before somebody realises that the NHS cannot and must not be allowed to slip away?
