YEP says: Leeds' Grand Quarter deserves some tlc
Once again Leeds has laid out some Grand Designs - this time to spruce up our Grand Quarter.
The Grand Quarter is one of the city centre’s historic cultural quarters, at new Briggate, which includes the Grand Theatrea nd Opera House and the Howard Assembly Room.
We’ve already lost out on one bid but now we’re having a second shot, pitching for £4.5million towards a £5million overahaul of the area.
We’re crossing our fingers for this one to be approved. The area deserves some money spending on it but the cash cannot be at the expense of basic needs in Leeds.
