YEP says child crimes cannot go unchecked
These were not minor matters. These youngsters only escaped prosecution for a long list of offences which included rape, arson, burglary and robbery simply because they were under the age of criminal responsibility. Whether or not we criminalise them seems secondary though to what we are going to do to ensure they don’t grow up to continue to perpetrate these crimes. And that will mean intense and expensive intervention.
