ANYONE who values the high street – and its importance for a city such as Leeds – will welcome Black Friday.
This may be an American import, and it may be used by traders to ratchet up sales in the build-up to Christmas. And bargains may not always be as attractive as billed. We know that.
But anything which attracts footfall to the city is good for traders, good for coffee bars and pubs and good for us all; it helps to create a thriving city centre, full of businesses which pay their share of taxes for the good of society in general.
Take care. Spend wisely. And help the city thrive.
